We are looking for:
Someone who enjoys the process of balancing the art and the science in a sales forecast. A number crunching, analytically driven individual who knows when it’s time to sprinkle in intuition to get the demand plan as accurate as possible. Manufacturing or retail experience preferred.
You will own:
The creation and management of sales forecasts to support production and inventory planning. As well as all the reporting and communication involved to make the plan as accurate as possible.
Your day might include:
Analyzing historical sales data for past trends that might help predict the future
Monitoring and evaluating current sales data for unforeseen demand; escalating issues to Planning for action when necessary
Working closely with Production/Planning to integrate the sales forecast into the planning system
Adjusting the demand plan based on Production/Planning schedule
Communicating with the Sales & Marketing team to identify possible influencing factors like current market trends and promotions
Keeping in touch with key customers to stay on top of their ever-changing needs
Leading meetings with Sales, Marketing, and Planning for forecast review and input
Identifying possible sales opportunities to improve inventory position
Regularly meeting with Product Development to identify new product rollouts and discontinuations
Analyzing data and creating weekly/monthly reporting to communicate forecast & budget accuracy, sales trends, inventory levels, and other KPI’s to management team
You can help us grow by:
Creating and implementing new analytics and forecasting models
Designing and developing custom reporting based on other business analysis needs; ad-hoc reporting
You need to have:
3+ years in a Forecasting or Planning capacity (manufacturing or retail environment preferred but not required)
Excel Mastery; guru status a plus
Love of details, organization, and problem solving
Talent for juggling changing priorities to meet deadlines
Availability for occasional travel to meet with sales managers / customers
Ability to occasionally lift products, materials or office supplies up to 30 pounds
