Development and Grants Coordinator
The Outdoor Foundation has an exciting opportunity for a Development and Grants Coordinator to help advance the organization’s development, research, and grant programs. The Coordinator will help design, implement and coordinate an organization-wide donor relations and stewardship program that generates support from new and existing donors, identifies top prospects, manages correspondence and strengthens relationships through strategic communications and ongoing cultivation.
In addition, the Coordinator will assist with coordination of meetings across all areas of the Foundation’s work, research projects and issue briefings, and grants administration. Experience with youth development, outdoor recreation, environment and / or healthcare is a plus.
Development responsibilities Include:
Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive development program including identifying prospects, drafting and submitting proposals, securing donations and reporting results.
Assist the Executive Director with donor research, planning donor visits, tracking actions, follow up, and gift acknowledgements.
Prepare gift reports, sponsorship decks and grant impact/evaluation reports to share with donors.
Co-manage major outdoor industry fundraising event, Outsiders Ball.
Create/maintain an accurate and timely information-sharing mechanism for stewarding prospects and donors. Manage reporting system.
Advise and facilitate recognition of donors, both in print and online communications.
Grant Writing & Grant Administration
Manage external grant processes and assist with writing grant proposals.
Assist with project management and implementation of all Outdoor Foundation funded initiatives.
Manage external grantor reporting expectations and provide grantors with regular updates.
Assist the Executive Director with grantee related research projects.
Collate and prepare issue briefs for stakeholder meetings.
Coordinate and schedule meetings, including phone briefings, invitations, and polling.
Record meeting minutes, flag items for follow up, and assist Executive Director with meeting follow-ups.
Research past Foundation grantees and develop tags/categories that tell the story of past grant-making.
Evaluate and evolve current Foundation reporting systems so that moving forward the Foundation is capturing appropriate and robust information on all grant-making.
Donor and Grantor communications:
Work together with Outdoor Industry Association staff on promotional calendar for all grantor communications.
Write content for website and social media channels and prepare Powerpoint and other presentation materials for grantors.
Regularly assess communications efforts to donors with the Executive Director and OIA Marketing and Communications staff.
