The AR Accountant will be an integral part of SCARPA’s Finance team and primarily responsible for all Accounts Receivable functions. You will also work closely with the Finance team on credit management, account reconciliations, financial audit and tax preparation support. The typical work day / week will be a combination of high-volume transaction processing along with higher level account reconciliation and variance analysis. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurately process high-volume invoicing on a daily basis.
Complete EDI invoicing. Research and resolve discrepancies.
Process payments and communicate payment status to company management and customers.
Prepare and post daily bank deposits.
Maintain current and accurate AR aging report. Review and resolve discrepancies with customers, internal Finance team and the Credit Manager.
Light collections and communicating past due account status to customers and company management.
Research and confirm or dispute credit card charge-backs.
Process E-Commerce payments and credit memos.
Review payment gateway and processor accounts to research variances.
Reconcile E-Commerce Accounts and AR.
Identify and implement AR Key Performance Indicators and regularly report to company management.
Identify and help to implement process and technology improvements.
Support account reconciliations, month-end close, financial audit, tax preparation and other Finance / Accounting projects as needed.
Able to work more than 40 hours occasionally when required to meet fluctuating workload.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (required on all positions):
Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of SNA’s electronic communication software.
Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing organization quality system standards.
Uphold SNA’s core values and mission statement and business goals.
Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending continuing professional education, IT systems, academic, or Outdoor Industry classes / seminars.
Follow SNA’s policies / Handbook.
REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGE:
Accounting professional certifications are helpful but not required.
Expert level Excel user, proficiency with other Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint); NetSuite or other ERP system; Proficiency with website backend interface.
Solid understanding of accounting principles and how detailed transactions relate to three financial statements.
Business office environment; limited domestic travel as needed to accomplish goals.
