The Vice President of Product for Eagle Creek plays a key role on the leadership team of the organization while also leading all product efforts. With a keen understanding of the brand and the market, you will build a product strategy that helps re-establish Eagle Creek as the global adventure travel gear leader. Your leadership will help us advance our sustainability initiatives and drive innovation across the product portfolio.

What You’ll Do

  • Build the merchandising and assortment strategy to elevate our product offering as we put the adventure back, squarely, in our adventure travel product offering.
  • Create the vision, strategy, and execution plan to drive a 3-5 year innovation and product road map for the brand.
  • Active member of the senior leadership team assisting with corporate strategy, brand and market positioning, and development of organizational talent.
  • Partner with your colleagues to gather consumer and market insights such that our product offering is modern and responsive to the new versions of adventure travel while respecting our heritage in the industry.
  • Build and manage the design and development capabilities of the organization to be able to produce sustainable, high quality, and innovative products.
  • Balance both creative and commercial perspectives while working through design and product development processes to deliver compelling, cohesive, and profitable brand and product experiences.
  • In collaboration with various team members and stake holders, lead and implement the key stage-gates from seasonal concept to final prototype review, and consumer-launch.
  • Lead, with the support of creative, seasonal concepts to inform line list development and GTM strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams who own brand & product initiatives, including community, athletes, and ambassadors.
  • Collaborate across Supply Chain and Operations to establish cohesive product planning and distribution strategies globally.
  • Continually monitor and report on market conditions and sales trends to ensure seasonal strategies remain relevant.
  • Hire, develop & retain highly productive, diverse, passionate and results-driven Product team.


Requirements

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years' experience in product management experience in the Outdoor or travel industry (Luggage, bags, backpacks, outdoor experience a plus).
  • Progressive experience leading Merchandising, Product Development, and Design functions.
  • Proven track record of successful, innovative product development and launch under management.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain and Operations, and Sales teams to establish and deliver go to market strategies.
  • Exceptionally strong personal initiative, good business instincts, and comfort with ambiguity are required for success.
  • Strong financial/business modeling and analysis skills.
  • Deep understanding of premium, performance brands with a focus on active, outdoor lifestyle brands required.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with proven experience managing large-scale projects.
  • Ability to present and lead executive conversations with the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team toward a common goal.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestically needed

Location

This position may be fully remote with travel to offices in Steamboat Springs, Colorado as needed. Steamboat presence highly preferred.

What We Offer

We offer competitive pay, $110,000 - $132,000 DOE, medical, dental, vision and a retirement plan. In addition, we have an open PTO policy, flexible work arrangements, and an employee purchase program.
