 This role will provide support to all new and existing location’s soft goods, hard goods, packaged consumables, prepared food, alcohol programming, and catering programs. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Retail, this position is responsible for the curation of offer sets company wide and tailored buys unique to each market. Bolster strategic vision through tangible and executable business opportunities. Manage the product assortment through all phases of retail sales. Negotiate wholesale terms, order, forecast velocity, and build replenishment cycles. Focus on ways to drive sales and operating margins to meet property budgets.

Essential Functions

  • Support Sr. Director of Retail in bringing strategy to life through a highly curated product offering. 
  • Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage and the Partnerships & Programs Manager to target national brands, locally relevant makers, and Food & Beverage purveyors. Vet and cultivate sustainable vendor relationships.
  • Own all vendor relationships and procurement. Manage inventory levels and replenishment. Refine MOQ across the portfolio that supports sales patterns and optimize margins.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to produce a full picture view of financial performance. Regularly report location specific and portfolio productivity opportunities.
  • Manage product pricing changes, seasonal sales to push product, and ongoing optimization of profit margins. Maintain and proactively plan for a seasonal calendar of rotating products.
  • Facilitate “co-lab” product offering with strategic brand partners. Manage design development with external and internal partners. Enable reciprocal brand awareness. 
  • Support the production of branded products with internal Brand and Design team partners. 
  • Build and maintain a timeline for opening property assortments, sample reviews, quality control, pre-opening ordering, and logistics. 
  • Partner with the Director of Openings and Property Operations to lead all new property shop setups and training of core retail and F&B processes.
  • Create and maintain local assortment inventory playbook to enable decentralized replenishment of packaged consumables, prepared food, and alcohol at all properties.
  • Collaborate with internal Brand Team and Partnerships & Programs Manager on brand storytelling through, in-shop signage, partner activations, experiential offerings, and product knowledge training.  
  • Consult with Design & Construction teams on physical infrastructural needs, back of house storage, retail merchandising systems for all retail and F&B operations.
  • Lead Property Retail and F&B Team syncs to capture qualitative insights. Identify issues, foster a community of problem solvers, and cultivate a shopkeeper’s mindset of all Properties Team Members.
  • Support onsite quality assurance checks, document compliance, execution of SOPs, and opportunities for assortment changes.
  • Implement and maintain the General Store Training, Best Practices, & Merchandising Standards. Deliver SOPs in support of Operations teams. 
  • Support Company Sustainability goals throughout responsibilities.    



Desired Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years management experience in the retail industry, and at least 2 years in multi-store management. 
  • 2+ years experience in boutique and/or mass market outdoor retail product sets.
  • 2+ years experience in curated food, beverage, grocery product sets.
  • Experience with craft, organic, sustainable vendors and products is a plus. 
  • Training all property teams on retail and food & beverage execution, customer service, and inventory management.
  • Background supporting high-end brands through growth. 
  • Implementing and maintaining merchandising standards 
  • Some exposure to product development and vendor relationships in both retail and F&B
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Working knowledge of Cloud Based Applications; knowledge of Google Suite products preferred.
  • Experience reading and analyzing property P&L, Sales and Pmix reports 
  • Able to work independently and follow through to completion on projects in a timely manner.
  • Thoroughness and an attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively advance multiple priorities 

Educational Requirements & Preferences

  • 4 year Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 4+ years experience within the retail industry 
  • 2+ years experience with multi store management 
  • 2+ years experience in curated food, beverage, grocery product sets.
  • Product Assortment/ Production Experience a plus

  • Be able and willing to travel regularly to conduct site visits, meet with General Managers and vendors.
  • Work collaboratively with several property teams and the Basecamp support team
  • Will be a MacGyver, able to find solutions when issues arise and able to work under pressure.
  • Have a valid driver's license and proof of Automobile insurance.
  • Be highly organized and attentive to details
