The Bike Cooperative (TBC) has an excellent opportunity for a Purchasing and Supplier Relations Manager. This position offers the option to work remotely from a home office or from our Manchester, NH Office.
This position is responsible for managing TBC’s overall relationship with all bike industry related vendors and organizations.
The position serves as buyer, negotiator, and industry expert to TBC for products purchased from those vendors. This position will seek to create common value between our retailers and supplier partners through communications, targeted promotions, and group buying models. Other responsibilities include identifying additional opportunities to increase purchase volume and recruiting prospective suppliers. The position may also be responsible for recruiting prospective member retailers on an as-needed basis.
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing and 5-8 years’ experience with purchasing and supplier relations. Position requires: extensive bike product and vendor knowledge; keen negotiating skills; solid financial management skills; strong knowledge of the bike industry's retail and supply chain; excellent relationship building, written and verbal communication skills; personal computer skills (Microsoft Office). Bicycle retail experience a plus!
